Live-in au pair in Crouch End north London for two great boys (10yrs and 7yrs)

We are looking for a friendly, easy-going female live-in au pair with good English and bags of initiative to look after our two boys. Our current lovely au pair from New Zealand is unfortunately going back to be with her family at the end of June so we need someone to start asap.

We live in Crouch End, a nice, quiet leafy part of north London, but near enough the centre of town to get in really easily. Just a short bus ride and then the tube -takes about 35 mins.

We have two great boys (aged 10 and 7). They love doing the usual things - football, riding bikes, tv and computer! Finlay also plays the guitar - electric! and Lachlan is starting on the recorder. They go to the local primary school - a 6-7 min walk away. They are very friendly and really easy-going.

The house is large and you'd have your own double room and en suite bathroom (toilet and washbasin) which is on the first floor (a bit separated from the rest of the house for privacy). We have fast wireless broadband internet so you could bring your own laptop if you have one (otherwise you can use family computer/s).

The hours are around 30-35 hours a week. 7.30am-9am in the mornings during weekdays - getting the kids breakfasted and ready for school. We usually take them to school ourselves. Pick-up from school is 3.10pm and then they sometimes do sport activities (football, rugby, cricket) at the school, go to friends houses, or just hang out.

It is important that they also do some homework and some reading every day which we would expect you to do with them - or with one of us if we are free. So it is important that your English is good. It would be great if you can cook, as it is important they have fresh, imaginative food for their supper.

You would be in charge of the kids till 7pm/7.30pm 4 days a week. (on the fifth weekday one of us would be there) You would be free then to go out/do your own thing. We usually have 2 evenings a week baby-sitting from the au pair. The weekends would be completely your own - to visit London , go out, travel round Britain, whatever - as you wish. We try and avoid weekend baby-sitting.

The other few hours work during the weekdays are to cover general household duties like sorting the kids washing and keeping their rooms tidy etc. (we have a cleaner who comes in to do general cleaning) There is time for you during the day to do your own thing. Pay and conditions are as per all the respectable nanny agencies.

We both work in TV. My husband runs his own company and makes current affairs programmes. He sometimes works abroad. I start working (part time) at a TV company in July.

We need someone to start preferably in the next week or so, and if it worked out, through till summer next year.
